Well, according to the University of Michigan, it is a Ambystoma maculatum (spotted salamander). It is a member of mole salamander family, which is “widespread in North America, but not found on any other continents. They are known from Southeast Alaska and Labrador through the Southern edge of the Mexican plateau.”
So, to answer you question… Yes… apparently.
